Jenny R. Stone was born and raised in the Stockbridge area. After high school, she served in the United States Navy before moving to Jackson in 1995. Jenny raised her family while attending Spring Arbor University, graduating cum laude in 2008, then moving on to graduate from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2013.

She began her legal career as a Law Clerk for the Honorable John G. McBain of Jackson County 4th Circuit Court while in law school. Following her clerkship, Jenny served as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Specialist with the Jackson County Friend of the Court, before moving on to serve as a Family Division and Juvenile Court Referee for both Van Buren County Circuit Court and Jackson County Circuit Court for nearly a decade. Jenny joined the law firm of White & Hotchkiss, PLLC in 2024.

Jenny emphasizes her practice in the areas of family law, including divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, and establishment of paternity; children’s law, including abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, adoption, and guardianships; criminal law, including traffic violations, misdemeanors, and low-level felonies; driver’s license restoration for those who have their license suspended, or restricted; mediation services; and, personal injury representation of victims.

Her other past accomplishments include serving as a board member for the Michigan Association of Court Mediators, the Jackson County Bar Association, as well as the Children’s Law Section of the Michigan State Bar.
